Don’t You Love Some Unhealthy Foods? And How To Eat Them Nevertheless

Don’t you just love some foods, although you know they are not good for you? The type of foods that will not help you to lose weight permanently? You probably like to eat those in large portions… For some, that’s chocolate. For others, cheeseburgers. Or ice cream. The list is often long.

You don’t want to deprive yourself from the foods you like. It’s a good idea to save those foods for a special occasion. Don’t eat them regularly, but still enjoy them every now and again. You will also want to eat smaller portions of these foods.

Cutting them out completely will lead to you feeling deprived and punished. This is not the point of your lifestyle change. The point is to become a healthier person, with better food choices and eating habits. You can incorporate the foods you love into your eating plan in a way that makes you happy, while still working toward your permanent weigh loss goal.

For example, let’s say you love chocolate and cannot imagine living without it. Well, instead of sitting down in front of the tv and eating an entire chocolate bar, try cutting off a bite. Enjoy that bite of chocolate after your meal. You would have first filled up on your healthy dinner, yet still get to feed your craving for chocolate!

Two that I really had to change were soda and french fries. The soda one I conquered by making myself natural sodas with fruit juice and carbonated water. I found that it is really the carbonation that I craved. With the french fries I make them myself in the oven, which cuts down on the fat and unhealthiness of frying.
