Good Healthy Diet to Lose Weight

Looking for a good healthy diet to lose weight?  Stop looking in all the wrong places!

If you are one of the thousands of women looking for a good healthy diet to lose weight, you aren’t alone.  Today, body image is so important, and many women feel inferior due to slim, attractive women being thrown in their face constantly through television, magazines, and other media.

The problem is, many celebrities use dangerous methods to attain their goals, which is not a good weight loss plan if you want to keep the extra pounds off long term.  Women over 40 in particular seem to have a really difficult time shedding even 5 or 10 pounds.  So, what should you do?

Good Healthy Diet to Lose Weight- Why Commercial Diets Fail

Those who are looking for a good healthy diet to lose weight should put all of those commercial diets out of their mind.  Sure, some do work, but can you live the rest of your life eating Jenny Craig food?  Not likely.  What you want is a healthy, balanced diet that is filling, tasty, and easy to maintain for life.

Women over 40 often feel that this age is the real beginning of their life; they want to look healthy and attractive, and it is possible for any woman!  Weight loss is a subject that puts many people in an ill humor, simply because they feel that in order to achieve the slim, healthy body they desire they will have to go hungry.  This just isn’t the case!

No matter what your age or how much you weigh, there is nothing that a healthy diet and lifestyle cannot change.  Unless you have medical problems that contribute to your weight, you CAN achieve the results you want!

Good Healthy Diet to Lose Weight- How to Look Healthy

Those who eat diets rich in fresh fruits and vegetables, low fat dairy and lean proteins not only maintain a healthy weight, they LOOK healthy – glowing skin, healthy shiny hair and good health are all results of a healthy eating plan and exercise.  Do you have to restrict foods to tiny portions that leave you hungry an hour later?  Hardly.

Many women over 40 are looking for a good healthy diet to lose weight, but the answer does not lie in fad diets, diet pills or even prepackaged diet foods like Lean Cuisine or Healthy Choice.  Weight loss is actually not nearly as hard as most would believe.

Good Healthy Diet to Lose Weight- Why It’s Difficult To Eat Healthy

Today’s society has made it nearly impossible to eat healthy, as there are fast food restaurants in every direction you look.  Supermarkets sell processed foods and junk foods that are loaded with bad fats and carbohydrates, not to mention high level of sodium.  By simply taking things back to a more natural state, dropping those extra pounds becomes easier.

As we age, it does become a bit more difficult to keep those extra pounds at bay.  Women over 40 are facing menopause, which often means crazed hormones and a sluggish metabolism.  In order to take off those extra pounds, it’s necessary that you burn more fat and calories than you consume.

In order to lose one pound, you must either burn 3500 extra calories, or eat 3500 less calories.  Of course, the easiest solution is to do both – eat healthy AND add fat burning activities to your daily regimen.  Contrary to what you may believe, you do not have to eat lettuce leaves and rice cakes, nor do you have to exercise like a mad woman for two hours every day.

If you’re one of the tens of thousands of women over 40 looking for a good healthy diet to lose weight, simply turn to healthy foods and a good dose of physical activity!  Do a little walking, add yoga or pilates to your routine, and ramp up the effect of your exercise by adding 3, 5 or 8 lb. weights.  You will see that weight loss isn’t nearly as hard as you may think – and you never have to feel hungry or deprived.
