Your Daily Wellness Exercise Routine- Especially for Women over 40
Many women over 40 have difficulties finding the time for a regular exercise program. But: Even if you have only 20-30 minutes a day for exercising, it will help you greatly. Exercising regularly 6-7 days a week is the key to success – “weekend warriors” don’t achieve much. Here are some tips on how to create an exercise routine, especially for busy women over 40:
- Find some friends to exercise with you. You will keep each other motivated and have more fun too. In addition, since you have an appointment with friends, it is much harder to “weasel out”: You would have to call them, explain and apologize… You will definitely exercise more if you do it in a group.
- For most women over 40 doing the exercise program in the morning works best. In the evening, after work, there is often not enough energy left… I recommend having a little bit of physical activity in the evening though. You will sleep better. Getting enough sleep is an important component if you want to balance the changing hormone system for women over 40 and lose weight permanently. Choose something relaxing, for example Yoga, or a pleasurable walk.
- If you can’t exercise in the morning, do it immediately after coming home. Once you sat down you probably won’t get your energy up again. So the routine could be: Come home, change clothes into your workout outfit and start exercising! You need to find an exercise program you can do alone and without much overhead. Jogging or riding a bike work great for that.
- Move more in your daily life. Every little bit counts and it all adds up. Park your car so you have to walk, use the staircase or ride a bicycle. The possibilities are endless; you just have to look for them.
- Reserve one evening per week for a fitness program. Friends and family will get used to you not being available at a certain day of the week. Especially nice is the Friday evening, because it will give you a nice introduction into a hopefully relaxing weekend.
