Skipping Dinner- Does it Work to be A Slim and Youthful Woman at 40?
Ever heard of “dinner canceling” or “skipping dinner“? The idea is: After 4 in the afternoon you’re only having water and tea. How could that possibly work?
Skipping Dinner- What it does
First of all, by skipping dinner you reduce your calorie intake- all food you don’t eat will help you to lose weight long-term. Many women at 40 find that food eaten in the evening somehow easily ends up as fat on their bodies- this is their experience.
Second, your blood sugar level drops below its usual level and you get a slight hypoglycemia. Because of this effect of skipping dinner, your body starts to release growth hormones and testosterone at night. These melt fat and make your skin firmer.
Normally, this process happens only in the second half of the night- and that’s why it is a good idea to sleep long if you want to maintain your beauty at age 40. But, because of skipping dinner and since you haven’t eaten since 4, the hormones are released much earlier and can work longer.
Skipping Dinner- The downside
Of course, there is a downside to that: If you skip dinner every day your body goes into “starvation mode”. The natural fat burning mechanisms are reduced, what will not help you to lose weight permanently. Additionally, you’ll develop a huge appetite- so you’ll feel tempted to eat a lot at daytime.
So, try this: don’t eat late in the evening. And eat light- veggies are great. This way your body has enough time to digest. If you’ve got the time, do a walk. It’s more relaxing than TV. TV is made to stimulate your nervous system what will affect your sleep negatively.
