Do You Have Enough Time to Lose Weight Following A Weight Loss Program?
If you can’t lose weight as a woman over 40, there might be a simple reason: You just cannot find the time to do all that’s necessary for a successful weight loss program. Weight loss plans and programs need some time to follow through- for exercising, cooking healthy meals and so on.
Your ideal weight is the result of an all-encompassing lifestyle. Physical activity, healthy nutrition and time for relaxation make and keep you slim, although you will have to find enough time on a regular basis. Otherwise your weight loss program will fail.
Many women over 40 have a lot of stress and time pressures in their life; the schedule is often filled to the max. Some examples:
- Whoever is working 50 and more hours per week will hardly find time to exercise regularly and extensively. After 10 hours of work you probably don’t like to be active any more- the couch and the TV are much more attractive then.
- If you have to take care of small children and a job, you probably won’t find the time to prepare salads and vegetables. Often women over 40 buy packaged and prepared food instead- these foods tend to be high in calories.
- Many times it seems to be practical and time-saving to snack on cookies, candies and chocolate. You can get them everywhere, they are packed and easy to transport, don’t need cooling and no time to preparation. And: They can be stored for a long time. On the other hand, fruits and vegetables need to be bought fresh or they will lose their nutritional value fast. They need to be cooled and washed before eating. This makes sweets a very tempting alternative- and each candy bar is a nail in the coffin of your weight loss program.
- A short nap in the afternoon is helpful to reduce stress, and will keep you youthful and energized. But- only a few very progressive companies allow this and provide facilities.
So, there is a lot you should do to lose weight in a healthy way and probably can’t. Expectations on women over 40 are often high, and responsibilities typically increase with age.
To assess your situation, try this little exercise:
Write down what you do on a typical day, and how much time you spend on it.
You’ll probably find that you do not spend much time on taking care of you, but a lot of time taking care of your job, your family and generally: others. This is a typical situation for women over 40. And exactly that might be the reason why you could not lose weight permanently up to now.
Just like you are planning your schedule in business, you need to plan your schedule to take care of yourself. So: Make yourself a priority in your life and plan accordingly.
A good weight loss program will help you defining time-consuming activities which you can scale down, so you have more time for yourself- healthy eating, physical activities and relaxation. My free personalized “Lose Weight Permanently” program contains elements for that:
